Eaquals • Evaluation and Accreditation of Quality Language Services

Eaquals is an ENQA Affiliate.

Eaquals is a not-for-profit association that works for the public good – independent of any commercial interests or group. It was founded in 1991 and is a registered as a non-profit association in England and Wales as well as being a UK charity.

Eaquals subscribes to the Council of Europe’s principles on Language Learning for European Citizenship. Eaquals aims to facilitate the free movement of people and ideas; to increase mutual knowledge and understanding; to increase the quantity and quality of international cooperation; and to combat prejudice and intolerance towards people of different languages and cultures. The mission of Eaquals is to foster excellence in language education across the world by providing guidance and support to teaching institutions and individuals. Its aim is to improve the experience of language learners by developing quality standards for the teaching of modern languages; to deliver accreditation against these standards for providers of language education; and to develop practical resources, and offer training and support for those working in the field of modern languages. All Eaquals’ activities are charitable and there are no shareholders to fund. Any financial surplus is available to fund future developments. They work for the public good – independent of any commercial interests or group and our core activity is to run a highly-respected accreditation scheme that evaluates and certifies the teaching of any language.
