VLUHR QA • Flemish Higher Education Council • Quality Assurance

VLUHR QA is the independent quality assurance agency of the Flemish Higher Education Council. VLUHR QA was established in 2013. It is the successor to the two previous quality assurance agencies in Flanders that had been operational since 1991. VLUHR QA is mainly funded by the Flemish higher education institutions’ evaluations fees and by incomes from (international) projects.

VLUHR QA aims to safeguard and improve the quality of higher education programmes. It carries out programme assessments, and for international joint programmes it uses the ‘European Approach’. VLUHR QA also coordinates the design of domain-specific learning outcomes in Flanders. Furthermore, the agency shares its expertise with higher education institutions and other organisations and participates in international quality assurance related projects.

VLUHR QA is currently undergoing a targeted review coordinated by ENQA. More information can be found here.

VLUHR QA’s most recent external review report can be found here.

VLUHR QA is registered on EQAR.
