10th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers

The 10th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers took place on 6-7 November 2014 in Oslo, Norway. The training session was organised by ENQA and hosted bythe Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT).

“Opportunities and Challenges of Learning with Technologies: Evidence-based Education” Seminar

The goal of the seminar was to reflect on policies, trends and perspectives on the use of ICT technologies in teaching and learning in the higher education sector. The seminar also aimed to introduce innovative learning initiatives implemented by the Estonian government, plus showcase how research groups at Tallinn and KU Leuven universities develop methods and applications for an evidence-based learning experience, bridging the gap between technological advancement and effective learning methods.

QACHE Regional Forum, 19-20 November, Manama, Bahrain

The event was designed to gather around 25 participants from QA agencies and other relevant actors in cross-border higher education (CBHE) in the region. All project partners from Europe also participated in the event, both to present outcomes of the other project activities and the European cases, as well as to discuss needs and opportunities for collaboration between agencies and relevant authorities in the future.

Oman Quality Network in Higher Education: 3rd Conference, 24-25 February, Oman

The OQNHE 3rd Conference is a two-day conference in quality management and quality enhancement in higher education. It aims at creating awareness, sharing good practices and providing a platform to bring policy makers, higher education institutions (HEIs) and interested stakeholders to share experiences and ideas.

Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference, second edition

The Ministry of National Education of Romania (MEN) and the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI) are organizing the second edition of the “Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference” (FOHE-BPRC 2), in Bucharest, Romania on 24 – 26 November 2014.

2015 INQAAHE Conference

The International Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) invites the global and higher education community to participate in the upcoming 2015 INQAAHE Conference, The Changing Landscape of Higher Education: New Demands for Quality Assurance, which will take place 30 March – 3 April 2015, at The Drake Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

SEQUENT Master Class, 13 November 2014, Barcelona, Spain

Utilising examples from practice and simulation, the informative and interactive workshop aimed to provide participants with new strategies for quality assessment of online, open, and flexible HE. Open to representatives from quality assurance agencies as well as higher education institutions, the seminar featured content on the latest European developments, methodologies and experiences relating to the provision and review of quality online instruction.

QACHE European Expert Forum, 5-6 November, London, United Kingdom

In order to validate the results of the research (the surveys, country reports, good practice cases and in-depth interviews) at the European level and to support the development of the project outcomes (toolkit and principles on QA of CBHE), a European Expert Forum was held in November 2014.

5th ENQA General Assembly, 16-17 October 2014, Zagreb, Croatia

The 2014 ENQA General Assembly took place on 16-17 October in Zagreb, Croatia and was hosted by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education (ASHE). The main themes of the General Assembly Forum were the ENQA Strategic Plan 2016-2020 and the revision of the ENQA review process. In addition, a presentation of the SEQUENT project on QA of e-learning was provided.

9th European Quality Assurance Forum, 13-15 November 2014, Barcelona, Spain

Through a mix of plenary and parallel sessions, the 2014 EQAF, entitled “Changing education – QA and the shift from teaching to learning”, combined practice-oriented or research-based discussions that took place in the paper sessions and workshops with presentations of current developments in quality assurance.

9th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers

The 9th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers will take place on 12-13 May 2014 in Bern, Switzerland. The training session is organised by ENQA and hosted by the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (OAQ).

IMPALA Seminar, 19-20 May 2014, Mannheim, Germany

The seminar on the “Impact Analysis of External Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions: Methodology and Its Relevance for Higher Education Policy” organised within the IMPALA project will take place on 19-20 May 2014 in Mannheim, Germany.

ENQA WORKSHOP ON STAKEHOLDERS’ TRANSPARENCY NEEDS

The workshop on stakeholders transparency needs took place on 6-7 May 2013 in Tallinn, Estonia. This event was organised by ENQA in cooperation with the Estonian Higher Education Quality Agency (EKKA) within the “Transparency of European higher education through public quality assurance reports” (EQArep) project of ENQA with the financial support of the Lifelong Learning Programme.

ENQA General Assembly

ENQA’s General Assembly 2012 was organised in cooperation with the Swiss Center of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (OAQ), and was held on 18-19 October, 2012 in Basel, Switzerland.

8th ENQA Training of agency reviewers

The 8th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers took place on 13-14 May 2013 in Budapest, Hungary. The training session was organised by ENQA and hosted by the the Hungarian Accreditation Committee (HAC).

7th European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF)

The 7th European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) was co-organised by ENQA, ESU, EUA and EURASHE. The event was hosted by Tallinn University and was held on 22-24 November 2012 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The 7th ENQA Training of Agency Reviewers took place on 20-21 September 2012 in Mannheim, Germany. The training session was organised by ENQA and hosted by the Evaluation Agency Baden-Wuerttemberg (evalag).

ENQA Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Seminar

Annual ENQA Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Seminar “Assessing impact – Using external reviews and evaluations for internal learning”, was held on the 7-8 June 2012, Valladolid, Spain.

6th ENQA Training of Experts for Agency Reviews

The 6th training of experts took place from 10-11 May 2012, Córdoba, Spain. It was organised by ENQA and hosted by the Agencia Andaluza del Conocimiento (AAC). The experience gained over the last years on the use of the ENQA membership criteria in the external reviews of ENQA member agencies, and the parallel use of the European Standards and guidelines (ESG) as the criteria for EQAR listing, emphasised the importance of experts being well prepared for the agency reviews.

2nd ENQA Members’ Forum

The ENQA Members’ Forum 2012, focused on the Impact of QA and Independence of Agencies, was organised in cooperation with the Evaluation Agency for Research and Higher Education (AERES), and was held on 23-24 April, 2012 in Paris, France.

EQAF 2011 – Quality and Trust: at the heart of what we do

The European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), an annual event co-organised by EUA, ENQA, EURASHE and ESU, is the European conference on quality assurance in higher education that brings together all of the key stakeholders in the field – higher education institutions, quality assurance agencies and students. This event is considered by the four co-organising partners as a major contribution to QA in higher education, and a flagship activity in this field. The sixth European Quality Assurance Forum was hosted by the University of Antwerp and Artesis University College on 17-19 November 2011, and took place in Antwerp, Belgium.

ENQA General Assembly

The ENQA General Assembly was hosted by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS).

Annual ENQA Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Seminar

ENQA, in cooperation with FINHEEC, organised a seminar on theme “Learning from each other – using benchmarking to develop IQA” which was held on 16-17 June, 2011 in Helsinki, Finland. This marked the annual meeting of the ENQA IQA Group.

1st ENQA Members’ Forum

The General Assembly of 2010 introduced a second annual meeting for all members, the so-called Members’ Forum. ENQA’s Members Forum 2011 was organised in cooperation with the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO), and was held on 4 March, 2011 in The Hague, Netherlands.

Annual ENQA Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Seminar

ENQA, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA, UK), organised a seminar on theme ‘Internal Quality Assurance – Enhancing quality culture’ which was held on 8-9 June, 2010 in London, United Kingdom. This marked the annual meeting of the ENQA IQA Group.

Biennial INQAAHE Conference

The 2011 INQAAHE Biennial Conference will take place in Madrid, Spain, from the 4th to the 7th of April 2011. The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) is hosting this event. The theme is “Quality Assurance: Foundation for the Future”. The conference will celebrate INQAAHE’s 20th anniversary.

ENQA Workshop on quality assurance of e-Learning

ENQA organised a workshop on the quality assurance of E-learning. The workshop was hosted by the National Agency for Higher Education (NAHE), and took place at Kristina Konferens & Hotell in Sigtuna, Sweden.

Training session/workshop for experts for agency reviews

Following the debriefing/brainstorming meeting on 17 March 2009 in order to prepare for the training of experts for agency reviews, this marked the first training session/workshop organised by ENQA, which took place in Paris, France.

The ASIIN 2008 Annual Conference, Hanover, Germany

The ASIIN 2008 Annual Conference was held on October 27 and 28 in Hanover, Germany. This year, discussions and workshops focused on tools and practices for managing quality in higher education. The event also provided opportunities for information about accreditation procedures for new programmes, for running programmes and for system accreditation.

Tenth ENQA General Assembly

The tenth ENQA General Assembly was hosted by the Austrian FH Council (FHR), the Austrian Accreditation Council (AAC) and the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance (AQA).

European Seminar on QA in e-learning

The European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU) organised, in cooperation with ENQA, a seminar on QA of e-learning in Madrid. The seminar was hosted by the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED).

CEE Network General Assembly and Workshop on Regional Cooperation

The Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEE Network) had held its biennial General Assembly meeting in Durres, Albania. A workshop on regional cooperation was organised in conjunction with the General Assembly.

INQAAHE 2008 Members Forum

The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) Members Forum 2008 was hosted by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU).

Second European Quality Assurance Forum, Implementing and Using Quality Assurance: Strategy and Practice

Following the success of the first European Quality Assurance Forum (QAF) organised in Münich in 2006, this second Forum, funded by the Socrates Programme and co-organised by ENQA, ESIB, EUA and EURASHE, explored progress to date in implementing the Standards and Guidelines in higher education institutions and quality assurance agencies. It aimed at developing a common understanding of ways to develop further a European dimension for quality assurance.

EURASHE Quality Assurance Symposium

EURASHE organised in co-operation with the Kazakh-British Technical University (Kazakhstan) and the Robert Gordon University (Scotland) a Eurasian Symposium on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education” as part of the Tempus SCM Project entitled “Promoting the External Dimension of the Bologna Process: QA in a National and Transnational Context”. The Symposium took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the 22nd – 24th of October 2007

Fifth Annual Conference of the Irish Universities Quality Board (IUQB)

The Conference on Institutional Research: Benefiting the Student Experience and University Performance explored themes such as: IR and Institutional Management, National Trends, Performance Indicators, Higher Education & Ranking Systems, Student Satisfaction, Linking IR and Planning & Quality.

Ninth ENQA General Assembly

The Norwegian Agency of Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT) hosted the ninth ENQA General Assembly (GA) in Oslo on 20-21 September 2007. The venue for the General Assembly was the Grand Hotel in Oslo.

ANECA Seminar on Quality Assurance

ANECA (Agencia Nacional de Evaluation de la Calidad y Acreditación) organised a Seminar on Quality Assurance Mechanisms and Codes of Good Practice: an Inter-regional approach within the Latin American-The Caribbean and European Union Higher Education Area (ALCUE).

CEEN Workshop on the European Standards and Guidelines in the Central and Eastern European Context after London

The Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEEN) organised a two-day workshop on the Standards and Guidelines for quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG) in the Central and Eastern European context. The event was hosted by the National Accreditation Agency, Federal Service of Supervision in Education and Science and the Herzen University.

European Forum for Quality Assurance – Embedding quality culture in higher education

The first European Forum for Quality Assurance, funded by the Socrates Programme and co-organised by ENQA, ESIB, EUA and EURASHE, provided an opportunity for the QA and HE communities and stakeholders to discuss internal quality processes in the context of current higher education trends and policy developments. The Forum was timed to follow immediately the Bologna Promoter seminar on QA to enable Bologna Promoters to attend both events if they so wished.

ENQA General Assembly

The Accreditation Organisation of The Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) – with the assistance of the European University Association, Council of Flemish Institutions for Higher Education (VLHORA) and Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR) – hosted the ENQA General Assembly in Brussels on 21-22 September 2006.

Council of Europe Forum on Quality Assurance – Legitimacy of Quality Assurance in Higher Education: The Role of Public Authorities and Institutions

The Council of Europe organised a forum on legitimacy of quality assurance in higher education in its headquarters in Strasbourg, France. The forum explored the role of the public authorities and higher education institutions in establishing QA legitimacy in HE. It also considered the role of the Steering Committee for Higher Education and Research (CDESR) as a pan-European policy forum for addressing questions of principle relating to quality assurance.

ENQA Workshop on the Language of European Quality Assurance

QAA coordinated, with the assistance of ENQA and of ENQA member agencies, an important two-day Workshop on the Language of European Quality Assurance in the University of Warwick, UK. It was an answer to increasing need for shared linguistic understanding in the European quality assurance.

ENQA Workshop on Employer Involvement

This ENQA workshop was organised by ENQA member agency Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN) in co-operation with Confederation of German Employers’ Associations (BDA) and with UNICE.

ENQA General Assembly

National Agency of Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain (ANECA) hosted 2005 ENQA General Assembly.

ENQA meeting with U.S. Regional Accreditation Commissions

On 11-12 September 2005, ENQA met for the first time with the leadership of the seven regional accreditation organisations of the United States. This meeting was initiated by both ENQA and the U.S. Regional Accreditation Commissions (CRAC), respectively, and it reflected the need to exchange views regarding the most recent developments in the field of higher education quality assurance in Europe and the United States.

ENQA Workshop on Institutional Audits

The fourth workshop in the series of ENQA seminars on institutional evaluation took place in Zürich, Switzerland. It was organised by the OAQ (Switzerland) with the support from ENQA member agencies NOKUT (Norway) and CNE (France). The workshop focused on quality audits.
