ENQA appoints new Director

The ENQA Board has today announced that Anna Gover has been appointed as the next Director of ENQA following an open competition which attracted many high-quality candidates. Anna is currently ENQA’s Deputy Director and will succeed Maria Kelo who, after ten successful years, leaves to take up a new role at the European University Association at the end of the year.

ENQA President Douglas Blackstock said:
Anna is an excellent appointment with a clear vision of how to develop ENQA’s services provided on behalf of our members and the role we can play in developing policy in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). ENQA is a diverse organisation, with members and affiliates from across the 49 countries of the EHEA and at different stages of their development. As quality assurance evolves across Europe, Anna will lead the Secretariat to support our elected Board as we work together to deliver value for our members. Anna is already well known and respected across Europe and will be a key part of the future success of ENQA.

Anna Gover said:
I am delighted to be taking up this new role within ENQA. I will be taking over a strong Secretariat thanks to the hard work and leadership of Maria Kelo over the past 10 years and I am excited for the opportunity to lead the staff and collaborate with the Board in the next phase of ENQA’s development. I look forward to the continued close cooperation with ENQA’s members, affiliates and partners as we enhance our services and expertise, strengthen our network, and ensure that the interests of quality assurance agencies are represented within the EHEA and beyond.
