ARES • Higher Education Regulatory Agency

The Higher Education Regulatory Agency (ARES) is an ENQA Affiliate.

ARES is included in the framework of guidelines and policies of the Government of Cape Verde, through the Ministry of Education, to entrust a specific institution with the responsibility of regulating, evaluating and monitoring the conditions of organization and operation of higher education establishments.

ARES was created by Decree-Law No. 121/VIII/2016, of March 24, and endowed with Statutes by the same diploma, as an independent administrative authority whose purpose is to guarantee the quality of higher education in Cape Verde.

ARES is independent in the exercise of its powers, without prejudice to the guiding principles legally established by the State of Cape Verde.
