AQHE • Agency for Quality in Higher Education of the Republic of North Macedonia

AQHE is an ENQA Affiliate. The Agency for Quality in Higher Education of the Republic of North Macedonia (AQHE) is a new independent body created under the new Law on Higher Education in North Macedonia and began its operations in 2020. The system for assurance, assessment, development and advancement of higher education in the Republic of North Macedonia, which among other things encompasses the accreditation and evaluation procedures of study programmes and higher education institutions, is a process carried out by AQHE. The agency consists of three separate bodies: the Higher Education Accreditation Board, the Higher Education Evaluation Board and a Director. In accordance with the new Law on Higher Education passed by the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia in May 2018, AQHE is a legal successor of the former Higher Education Accreditation and Evaluation Board (HEAEB).
