ENQA celebrates its 25th anniversary in the coming year

By the ENQA Secretariat

As we approach the end of 2024, it is a moment to take stock of ENQA’s achievements during this year. Highlights include the successful conclusion of the QA-FIT project, the launch of the ESG revision process, the second external review of ENQA Agency Reviews and publications on topics including micro-credentials and academic integrity. At this time, we also look forward to  2025  with a special kind of expectation as it will mark the 25th anniversary of the Association. This prompts a reflection on the journey and milestones to date, as well as planning for the next stage of ENQA’s development.

With that spirit, the 25th anniversary celebrations will include initiatives that bring together ENQA’s members and affiliates, key partners, and people that have played significant roles in ENQA’s history. The culmination of this will be the ENQA General Assembly taking place on 23-25 October 2025 in Brussels (Belgium), which will include an anniversary seminar and reception. At the same meeting, we will also look to the future and ENQA members are expected to approve the new ENQA strategy to cover the period 2026-2030.

However, there is no need to wait until then to take part in the celebrations: ENQA members and affiliates are already invited to send a short video message to commemorate the occasion. The videos will be featured on ENQA’s communication channels throughout the year. In addition, a series of publications on the past, present and future of the Association can be expected during 2025, along with a closing webinar that will mark the end of the celebrations.

In the ENQA Secretariat, we look forward to celebrating ENQA’s 25th anniversary with all our members, affiliates, partners and stakeholders. Stay tuned to our website, newsletter and social media channels for further information about these activities. We look forward to raising our glasses to at least twenty five more years of fruitful cooperation!
