The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) held a workshop on the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in quality assurance on 11-12 June 2025. The workshop included plenary presentations, case studies and working sessions. It marked an initial step in exploring the topic and building a shared understanding of how quality assurance (QA) agencies can use AI in a way that maintains the integrity, fairness, and effectiveness of their work. This report summarises the discussions held during the workshop, including challenges and emerging good practices on the topic. It also presents possible areas of consideration for the draft principles that could guide QA agencies in integrating AI responsibly into their work.
