ENQA Board member, Karena Maguire, has announced that she is stepping down from her position on the Board at the end of this month, as she will also be leaving her position at QQI. As a result, ENQA invites member agencies to nominate candidates to stand for election to fill her position on the ENQA Board. The election will take place at the General Assembly meeting during the Members’ Forum on 20 April 2023 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The elected candidate will serve the remaining 6 months of Karena’s term, until October 2023, and will then be eligible to stand for re-election for a further two full terms of three years each.
The ENQA Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Association and overseeing the implementation of the strategic plan for 2021-2025. The coming years present an opportunity to steer ENQA’s development at a time when higher education itself is rapidly evolving and the external quality assurance community must reflect on the fitness-for-purpose of its practices and be open to exploring new concepts of quality and quality assurance.
The full call for candidates, detailing the requirements, duties and nomination process, is available here. The deadline for nominations is Monday 20 March 2023, midnight CEST (Brussels time).
The ENQA Board and Secretariat would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Karena for her active and insightful contributions to ENQA’s work over her many years at QQI, and most recently as a member of ENQA’s Board.
