ENQA conducts mapping of quality assurance agencies in the EHEA

ENQA has launched a survey to map the status and activities of quality assurance agencies operating within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

The survey aims to:

  • collect data on the state of play of external quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA),
  • explore how quality assurance agencies are addressing recent and emerging developments in higher education including the use of innovative approaches,
  • explore topics such as quality assurance and international cooperation, and the use of data in quality assurance.

In addition to providing a picture of current approaches, the study will also include longitudinal analysis through comparisons with data collected in 2022 through the QA-FIT project. A similar survey is also being conducted with higher education institutions and the analysis will be presented in a paper in early 2027. The work is being conducted as part of the Stakeholder Perspectives on Implementation of Commitments in the EHEA (SPICE) project.

ENQA encourages all quality assurance agencies operating within the EHEA to fill in the survey by 10 July. Responses will provide valuable insights into current practices and trends, show development of external quality assurance over recent years, and deepen ENQA’s evidence base for future activities and input to policy-making.
