The EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package for Higher Education (SCOPE-HE) Programme has published the Comparability Study of the ASEAN Quality Assurance Framework (AQAF) and the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).
The study was prepared by a team of experts selected through a competitive call for tenders: Dr. Hazman Abdullah (Malaysia), Ms. Fiona Crozier (United Kingdom), and Mr. Achim Hopbach (Austria). It analyses the background, contexts, standards, implementation, and impact of the ESG (2015) and AQAF (2016), and concludes with recommendations to support the gradual harmonisation of quality assurance practices between ASEAN and the EU.
The initial draft was shared with and consulted by experts, the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Education (SOM-ED) focal points, and ENQA.
