After popular demand, ENQA was pleased to launch our webinar series over the course of 2019 on an interesting collection of QA topics.
The final webinar of 2019 explored the topic “How to prepare a good self-assessment report for an ENQA Agency Review – Value of the process for the agency’s development.” The webinar took place on Wednesday, 4 December 2019 at 15.00-16.00 Brussels time.
During the webinar, Fiona Crozier (Independent Consultant, former Head of International, QAA, UK) and a representative from ENQA member agency, Asnate Kažoka (expert, AIC, Latvia) with expertise in writing thorough SARs presented their experience and elaborated on the value of the process for the agency’s further development. The webinar concluded with an overview of good practices in preparing a good SAR from previous ENQA Agency Reviews, as presented by Goran Dakovic, ENQA Reviews Manager. Participants also had the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and ask questions.

Fiona Crozier
Independent Consultant, former Head of International, QAA, UK
Fiona has worked in higher education for over 25 years. Her experience in quality assurance spans funding councils, universities and agencies and, over the last 17 years, she has worked both nationally and internationally in the field. Her experience incorporates the development, implementation and operationalisation of internal and external QA methods, training of peer reviewers and acting as a chair and reviewer on reviews of agencies and institutions in the UK, Ireland, Denmark and Finland as well as internationally for the European Quality Assurance Association (ENQA) and the International Quality Assurance Association for Higher Education (INQAAHE). She was Vice-President of the ENQA Board from 2009-2013. She has been involved in many international projects, including an OECD advisory team to the Ministry of Education in Chile and a current EU-funded capacity building project in the ASEAN region. Her most recent post was as Head of International at the QAA UK and she is currently working as an independent consultant.
Asnate Kažoka
Expert/ Project Expert, Quality Agency for Higher Education, Academic Information Centre, Latvia
Asnate has a wide experience in quality assurance of higher education and representation of stakeholders in it. Her experience includes positions in the administration of University of Latvia, Latvian Council of Higher Education and State Education Development Agency. Since 2015 Asnate has worked for the Quality Agency for Higher Education. She has participated in establishing the agency and preparing it for its first external review against the ESG. Asnate has participated in numerous quality assurance reviews of study programmes, institutions and agencies in the European Higher Education Area and acted as an expert for a number of quality assurance related projects. Previously Asnate has been in charge of policy development and management of student expert networks in the Student Union of Latvia and the European Students’ Union.
