The IMPALA International Conference: Impact Evaluation of Quality Management in Higher Education – A Contribution to Sustainable Quality Development of the Knowledge Society took place on 16-17 June in Barcelona, Spain.

IMPALA partners

The conference was an activity within the EU-funded, Lifelong Learning Programme project entitled “Impact Analysis of External Quality Assurance Processes in Higher Education Institutions: Pluralistic Methodology and Application of a Formative Transdisciplinary Impact Evaluation (IMPALA)” which aims to improve the knowledge and know-how of all stakeholders concerning the outputs, outcomes, effects, and (mid- and long-term) impacts of EQA procedures.

The final conference aimed at presenting and disseminating further results of the IMPALA project (i.e., methodology and application of impact evaluation of external quality assurance in higher education institutions) to a wider interested audience. Presentations included case studies of impact evaluation of quality assurance in HEIs and some which embed the topic into current debates on HEI governance and higher education policy. The conference also intended to gather input from participants and to identify options for exploitation of the impact evaluation methodology and further research.

The draft conference programme is available here.

Presentations from the event are available on the project website.
