The theme of qualifications frameworks and their relation to quality assurance is gaining urgency in the European scene as more and more countries are completing their national qualifications frameworks and quality assurance agencies need to take important decisions on how to implement them.
Some of the key features of the qualifications frameworks are the specification of learning outcomes, processes for assessing learners’ attainment of the expected outcomes, their relation to the ECTS, identification of transfer and progression routes, and recognition of prior learning.
The topics were addressed through presentations of experiences and practices from ENQA member agencies and included highly interactive breakout groups in which participants were able to share their own experiences.
The workshop assembled about 60 people including ENQA members and affiliates, and stakeholders in higher education (higher education institutions, ministries of education, etc.).
