EURASHE Quality Assurance Symposium

22 October 2007-24 October 2007 00:00

EURASHE organised in co-operation with the Kazakh-British Technical University (Kazakhstan) and the Robert Gordon University (Scotland) a Eurasian Symposium on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education” as part of the Tempus SCM Project entitled “Promoting the External Dimension of the Bologna Process: QA in a National and Transnational Context”. The Symposium took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the 22nd – 24th of October 2007.

The objective of the project is to raise standards in the HEIs in the partner countries, by implementing the standards of Quality Assurance that were developed in Europe in the framework of the Bologna Process. This project, by stressing the external dimension of the Bologna Process and by clearly focusing on Quality Assurance in a National and Transnational Context, can be of great help in fostering a debate between experts from Europe and from the Eurasian partner countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan). In addition, it will help create close links between the universities in the area and, in general, the educational sectors of the three countries involved, and also bring the process of reform of HE in the three partner countries more in line with European standards.
