PKA - Polish Accreditation Committee

PKA is an independent statutory body established by the Higher Education Act in Poland. It is financed from the state budget. The work of PKA is guided by the principle of reliability, impartiality and transparency and the commitment to equal participation of men and women in it. Since its establishment, the PKA has covered all public and non-public higher education institutions, both those established on the basis of the Act of 26 June 1997 on Higher Vocational Schools and those operating on the basis of the Act of 12 September 1990 on Higher Education

PKA performs programme and institutional assessment as well as gives opinions on applications for the establishment of new higher education institutions, the extension of permits for the establishment of non-public institutions, and for the authorisation for higher education institutions to establish new degree programmes.
