The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) conducted its first student liaison meetings in 2017-2018. The aim of the meetings was to inform student representatives, nominated by their universities, about the work of the Council and provide an opportunity for discussions around developments in the higher education (HE) sector.
Three Student Liaison Meetings, which were well-received by students, were conducted in 2017-2018. At the end of 2017-2018, a “VQ Club”, with its logo designed by students themselves, was formed to facilitate communication and foster long-term relationships between HKCAAVQ and student representatives.
In view of the positive responses, HKCAAVQ continues to hold similar student liaison meetings and organise various activities for students to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the quality assurance process in HE in 2018-2019. Activities in the works now include thematic workshops, “Dialogue with an HKCAAVQ Specialist”, and a summer internship that provides the opportunity for students to work in the office of HKCAAVQ. HKCAAVQ is committed to providing a platform to engage students and enhance their quality assurance knowledge.
