ENQA webinar on trust-based e-assessment in higher education

ENQA was pleased to launch its first webinar of 2020, which discussed the outcomes of the Trust-based Authentication and Authorship e-assessment analysis (TeSLA) project for which ENQA was a partner.

The webinar took place on Monday 11 May 2020 at 10.30-11.30 CEST (Brussels time)

Overview

During the webinar, Ana Guerrero Roldán (lecturer in Computer Science, UOC, Spain and coordinator of the TeSLA project) and Esther Huertas (Head of the Quality Assurance Area, AQU Catalunya, Spain), presented respectively an overview of the TeSLA project and one of the outcomes developed by the QA organisations (among which ENQA): the Framework for the Quality Assurance of e-Assessment. Participants also had the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and ask questions.

Speaker Bios

Ana Elena Guerrero Roldán

Ana holds a PhD focused on eLearning and technology from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) where she is now a lecturer in the Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunication Studies department. She is a member of the Digital Literacy area which provides a compulsory subject related with a set of ICT competencies in all university bachelor programmes. She has participated in several national and international research projects related to the teaching and learning process in distance learning environments. She focuses her research on the design of technology-enhanced systems for online teaching and learning processes, especially on the issues of e-assessment and feedback. She developed an adaptive learning path system for online higher education that responds to users’ needs from both personal and educational perspectives using ICT. Ana was the TeSLA project co-ordinator. Her role was related to the management of the project as well as the definition of the e-assessment framework for educational institutions.

Esther Huertas Hidalgo

Esther is the Head of the Quality Assurance Area at the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) in Barcelona, Spain. She received her qualification as an agronomist engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and her B.S. (Food Science and Technology) and M.S. (Environmental Sciences) degrees from the University of Barcelona. She has also received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Barcelona. In her first appointment, Huertas served as a researcher at the University of Barcelona where she then served as an assistant professor for three years. She began to collaborate with AQU Catalunya as a student expert in the TEEP II project and got a position at the Agency in 2006. Nowadays, she is the Head of the Quality Assurance Area. Her work at AQU Catalunya is focused on the design of methodology for different programmes and she is actively involved in programme evaluation (ex-ante, follow-up and accreditation) and institutional evaluation (certification of implementation of internal quality assurance systems). In the TeSLA project, Esther was the leader of the work package on quality assurance.
